So, I recently installed Age of Empires 2 and the Conquerors expansion. I patched the Conquerors to the most recent version.
So here's the weird part. I have the disc. With the disc in, I can launch the game from the start menu, and I can launch the game from the autoloader when I stick the disc in the drive. However, if I go into the actual game directory and double click on the executable, I get this message:
This normally wouldn't be a problem, except that I'm using GameRanger to set up multiplayer games. And when I use GameRanger, it gives me the exact same error. That I don't get when I use the Start menu icon. I've never seen anything like this before.
I assume I could use a no-cd crack for this, but I'm not sure what that would do to the multiplayer capabilities. Suggestions?
