Here is a good one folks.
Config. -

new tbird 1ghz
AMD approved 256mb dimm
new case w/AMD approved 300w PS

no other added HW yet
boots fine ran fdisk formatted all ok. Upon trying to install win98se several times I get very random gpf errors as well as other strange errors or lock ups. Setup never completes. Memory works fine in another system.
bad mobo or bad cpu?

Try the most conservative CMOS settings. Sometimes it takes some experimenting to find the right combination. This is one of the things you pay for with a ready made system.

Try the mem values at the higher numbers. On mine the defaults were in the middle range. go up one notch on all.
