Random freezing, pausing

Hey guys,

Having a problem with my trusty old desktop, i've deleted all the unnecessary programs, removed all of the unneeded hardware to get down and try and diagnose this problem.

I've ran smart tests on my hard drives and there is nothing wrong, and I'm running memtest on my computer but there doesn't seem to be any problem with the ram either.

Basically what happens is this...

I'll start up Azereus, and every 3 seconds the mouse and computer will cease to do anything, then it starts up again, and it does this over and over.

Eventually the computer will freeze when i try to close azereus.

Might this be a virus? I can't really think of anything else other than maybe a Driver conflict.. or maybe to much pron my brother has been downloading..
 
Is it just Azureus? Have you uninstalled/reinstalled it?

If it's other programs too, have you run virus and spyware scans? Which ones?

everything, usually under heavy work load.

I just notice the most during azereus because it uses up alot of memory.
