Random freezes with 6600GT

When im playing a game, its working fine until for some reason i reach a certain area and my whole computer freezes. im not 100% sure if its b/c of the video card but i dunno what else could be affecting it. when my computer freezes, nothing works. ive tried changing driver to 77.77 winxp2k, and same problem. does anyone know whats wrong?

btw its a 6600gt chaintech
3200 a64 venice core
ECS nforce4 mobo

i've had this issue with some backups of games. While playing, my computer freezes or restarts. Im 100% sure it was a problem with the game itself (some corruption). Check your temperatures too just in case. I couldn't find a good solution for the problem. You could try reinstalling the games that you ahve problems with. I don't know of any other solutions, sry.
