Jajaja

Well, it seems that the problem is still there. I been freezing up lately, about 30 mins ago I did again. Same, issue. It happens everywhere.

And, I have also seen been stuck for an abnormal amount of time in the Start menu, where all my Win8.1 apps are. All buttons show up, Desktop, IE, etc... but they arent clickable for awhile.

What could it be?

I don't know about anyone else, but I think now that we are up to 53 posts, various fixes, and some non-fixes; I think we need a consolidated post from MisterLilBig on what specific problems you're seeing, when you are seeing them, and what results that were reported before now have changed, if any.

I really don't know how to be so specific about the problem. Some times it freezes and thats it, I need to reset. And sometimes it freezes and the screen goes black, and I need to reset. If it happens watching a video the sound gets stuck also, stays with a never ending sound, like the ending of a weather warning announcement(In my country.)

It happens doing anything. Web browsing. Gaming. Videos, just on the desktop, downloading Steam games, etc...

Ran the OCCT GPU test with error checking on, the WildStar game running, AMD control center, Windows task manager and did a Full Custom scan with Windows Defender to monitor temps.

10 minutes into the test...

44c SYSTIN
61c CPUTIN
62.50c AUXTIN
40c TMPIN3
85c~114c Package
38c Assembly
38c Air Flow
67c TMPIN0

1 Hour after...
45c SYSTIN
55.50c CPUTIN
62.50c AUXTIN
40c TMPIN3
83c~119c Package
40c Assembly
40c Air Flow
67c TMPIN0

2 Hours after...
46c SYSTIN
61.50c CPUTIN
62.50c AUXTIN
40c TMPIN3
89c~106c Package
41c Assembly
41c Air Flow
69c TMPIN0

Package temps are always changing, constantly every second, going slowly down then jumping up, and going slowly down.

Thanks MisterLilBig, have you done any RAM tests? do you have one 8 GB stick or two 4's?

I haven't. I have two 4GB sticks. Do I just take any one out and boot each time? Order matters? How does the test work? What do I do exactly?

There are a few ways to do this. You mentioned one, just take out a stick and run it for a while. See if it still crashes.

Another way is to get Memtest and put it on a flash drive or burn it to a CD. This is handy if you are going out, or it's bed time, so you can just let it run for hours and hours:

I have seen a few people here at AT with RAM problems that Memtest didn't detect, so I prefer the one-stick-at-a-time method.

Guess I'll have to go with the one stick at a time method.

Wish there was a simpler, quicker way to fix this.

Had a freeze today and a never ending load. Pointer stuck loading, movable but nothing working. Had to reset.

Had issues with both sticks seperated.

First one froze and I used the other, which while I was updating a game with my monitor off and when to turn it on, it was blackscreen. Reset, did it again, when I woke up. Reset and it didnt boot after I put in my Windows Password, just stayed blackscreen.

Got both sticks in again. What now? Isn't there better/faster/simpler ways to check what's wrong?

Don't have another hdd.

Are there ways to check the HDD? Havent had a freeze yet today.

Did turn off the monitor earlier and on after a few seconds and it was blackscreen, as in not registering the HDMI signal, had to reset. I think that's what happened yesterday at night and this morning. Monitor light was red, so, it was working but not registering. Did "play" with the cable, moved it from the dGPU to the MOBO, and nothing happened, either.

Maybe the cable is bad?

This is a different issue. Unrelated to the freezing that I have had since the start of the thread.

Ran all "Basic Tests", except the "Fix All". Passed all tests.

What else can I do? Haven't had a problem, since the morning, yet. Computer been on for 9-10 hours. Browsed the web and watched a few offline videos, ran Windows Defender, etc...

Video cables? HDMI? Its all as I set it up the first time.

Just a bit ago I left the PC on, updating WildStar and had an Offline video paused, when I came back I clicked 'play' and the sound of the video continued, but not the actual video, images, etc... then(instantly) the mouse pointer started 'loading' and nothing worked. Mouse moved, loading, but nothing worked, clicking didnt work, nothing worked.

In 'services'? Where exactly? Looks like a very long list.

There is a 'weird' one with manufacturer 'unknown' called 'ACP User Service'.

EDIT: Seems to be from AMD, by what google shows. "It's for our TrueAudio Technology (TrueAudio is codenamed "ACP" and it runs a background service that helps manage audio tasks in games."

Other than that above, everything seems normal. Adobe, Google, Mozilla, Hi-Rez, BitRaider, AMD, Valve, Futurmark stuff.

THAT sounds like a driver or codec problem. What video drivers are you running? And what are you running for codecs? I have used different things over the years, but right now my favorites come with VLC player.

I'm using the 14.6 catalyst beta driver and I use GOM player. Not sure about codecs tho.

Looks like a good program, though I have never used it. The web site says if it runs into a codec it doesn't support, it will find and download it.

Might want to roll back to the latest non-beta catalyst and see if that helps.

Well, I have been using different drivers and I still had the old problems. But, I'll get the 'stable' driver again.

Probably better to go from there.

Got it that day and no problem since the last one mentioned.

So, weird!

I did have an AMD WDDM 1.3 update on Windows Update that didnt install until I got the stable version installed, had already uninstalled the other driver, the 14.6 beta.

No problems since then.

Well, only one. Which I was reminded of a few days ago. At the 'metro start screen' when I Turn Off my computer, it actually does not. Monitor shuts off, but not the computer, it stays ON, fans on, etc. Pretty weird. I always turn it off from the taskbar. It turns off fully like that.
