Random: Does spicy stuff kill germs??

It was just wandering around in my mind since I just had some spicy noodles...tried to look it up but only found some stuff about wasabi maybe kill germs.

What about in general though, can stuff like chili powder or jalapenos really kill germs??

Capsaicin (what makes chili peppers, etc. spicy) has antibacterial properties outside of the stomach IIRC.

What makes it lose those properties inside the stomach? 😕

It doesn't really matter. Your stomach is filled with acids specifically to kill living organisms during digestion.
