Random disconnects?

OK, well I just got DSL a few days ago and am already having some problems. First, here are the specs:

Router/DSL modem combo: Westell Versalink Gateway 327W
Other router, not used: D-Link DI-524
PCI wireless adapter: D-Link DWL-G510

When we first set up DSL with the 327W, there was a period in which the router kept constantly rebooting for no apparent reason. We turned it off and left it for a while, then turned it back on and it seemed to work. I have sorta bad signal strength in this computer, but I could see the SSID listed in D-Link's Configuration Utility program's scanner tab. I could connect to this, though it said I have only about 60% signal strength. The internet seems to be working fine. I start up Azureus (bittorrent client), and it also seems to be working fine. A couple of hours later, suddenly the connection seems to freeze. When I go into the status window for the wireless connection, the "packets received" is stuck at one number, and the "packets sent" is not. After about thirty seconds, it started working again. This became very frequent, happening every few minutes. Finally I decided it must be BitTorrent, because of the nature of the protocol, so I turned that off. Things worked for a while, but soon the problem resumed, albeit at smaller intervals.

I've tried disabling and reenabling my wireless card, and even uninstalling and reinstalling it. Oddly, whenever I do this, Windows gives me a "code 10", "The device cannot start". After shutting down, cutting power to the motherboard for a bit, then booting up again, it seems to work. Until the random "freezes" start happening again.

Why is this happening? Can anyone enlighten me? o_O I'm rather confused...
