I have an AMD 64 3200+ and an Asus K8V SE Deluxe board. I also have 2 chips of Corsair CMX512-3200C2PT 512MB DDR400 PC3200 XMS Memory. Anyways at first everything seemed ok, the i started gettin a weird crash in certain games... the game would freeze, and then the monitor would turn off as if it wasnt recieving a signal, but the computer would stay on. This has since developed into a much more sevear problem. Now randomly my system will shut down and will crash out of every game. I tried with a differnet video card, no change. I tried different memory and it seemed ok. Due to all the crashes i had had my OS was corrupted so i decided to reformat. It took 4 attempts to install windows XP (this is with 512mb Kingston HyperX DDR2700). I have since put my corsair memory back in the system as well as my old video card. I then ran prime95, which crashed on teh first test everytime. My question is: how can i tell if it is problem with bad memory or an incompatibilty with the motherboard. I was unable to run memtest as it would just crash out as it tried to start up when id boot from it and have heard that it doesnt work with AMD 64 systems.

Is my best bet to try my memory with another system or RMA it or is there another test i can try?

thanks.
