Random crashes and errors

After upgrading to my Q6600 from an E6550 then E3110, Everything was fine for a while. Now, I am getting random errors for various EXE's and the system slows to less than 486SX16 speed. I thought for SURE it was my Firestix (d9 Microns) dying as this is what happened when my last set died. After multiple hours of memtest, ZERO errors!!! I'm now at a loss as to what is going on.

Hijackthis comes back clean, AVG finds nothing. Housecall Online finds nothing. Pretty much any and every spyware/virus scanner comes back clean. I know a format would be recommended but alas my cd's are in storage for the next month so that is NOT an option. Any thoughts?

Well, in all honesty this installation has gone through more than 3 cpu changes. I

AFAIK, it went from:
Shuttle Socket A
AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400
Intel C2D E6550
Intel Xeon C2D E3110
Intel C2Q Q6600

I think I might have missed one or two in there also. All I can say is Sysprep works wonders during a hardware change!!

Interesting....

My brother recommended uninstalling AVG and so far so good. I think AVG was leaking memory over time causing the system to crash. Only time will tell though.
