Hi I have Abit IS7 2.6@3.06 (234/196)@1.55V
2x256 Geil PC3500 @2-6-2-2 @2.8V Gat @Auto Auto Auto Auto Auto
350Watts power supply
recently i noticed that i get random reboots
i called in my internet provider and they told me that my usb ports might be overloaded and sometimes with the cable modem it results in the shutdown of the computer system and i need to install USB 2.0 drivers which i dont have ...
however after i disconnected my cable modem (i still have USB printer and mouse) i get the problem much MUCH MUCH LESS frequently i must say (now like 1 time in 12 hours instead of every 10min) i still get random reboots
i also remmber one time i took off the cpu with the heatsink on top of it without releasing the retention clip on the socket
could i have shortened the pins? or the voltage current or damaged the connectors on the motherboard or the cpu that is causing these random reboots?
i get message : system error ...something like MiniMemory Dump error of sorts in the System32/temp....
but i swapped in new power supply, new RAM, still nothing, updated the BIOS from 1.4, 1.5 to 1.6...?, reintsalled new OS on a reformatted hard drive
RMA the motehrboard? RMA the cpu? also my cpu has artic silver 3 and i heard that i cant return it to the store since intel doesnt cover it with that thermal paste under warranty?
also i scanned on Symantec says i have no viruses
