My roomates computer keeps randomly rebooting at the weirdest times. He can be playing a video game, or just surfing the internet, but his computer will Auto-reboot. Im thinking that Heat is the problem, but after checking out his System Heath Status under BIOS, his CPU is running at only 37C. I hear 50C is starting to get hot...but i dunno (Athlon original 750mhz chip is what he's using, with a Tyan K7 Board).

Any Help? Thx.

In the majority of cases random reboots are caused by a weak power supply. The cpu voltage dips and causes a reboot.

He is using Windows Me, not Win2k. So, seems like everyone says power supplies. Anything else it could be?

most computers could run on a 250 watt power supply (pentium 1, 2 & 3, k6 series and so on) the athlon requires 300 watts.
i also had problems like this, try re-installing the latest video drivers.
