I had been using win2k on my current pc for months and a few days ago I started getting random BSODs, and all of them seemed to mention some type of error with ntfs.sys. Many times I could not boot up and would get a BSOD on the win2k splash screen. I then deleted that partion, formatted the drive, and installed winXP pro, and am having the same problems, although not as frequently (yet). Is there some part of the drive (and file system) that does not get overwritten or modified from a format or repartition that could be corrupt? Should I do a zero-fill on the drive and start all over again?
