Random BSOD and Restart

I just finished installing my new Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 Motherboard, ATI x800xl pci-e graphics card, 160gb SATA HD, and two new sticks of 512 Kingston RAM. The system seemed to work perfectly after I reinstalled windows and updated all my drivers. Then I began to see a repeating cycle of my system blue screening or just restarting. I have tried to find a solution to this but it is very vague. Could it possibly be my power supply? I am using the one that came with my case, a 350W TurboLink ATX-12V. Could I be overheating? Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I doubt that power supply is the best choice.

What are the codes you get with the BSOD?

You have all your power cables plugged in right?

What is the model number of the case you got?

Yes, I checked and all the cables are plugged in. Most of the time the BSOD flashes by so fast I cannot even read it. The one time it stayed on it said something about missing file ntfs.sys.

How many case fans are using? Video card? What case model number did you get? We need more info to help.

Voltage looks fine for such a cheap power supply.

The system fan speed is fine.

When do the BSOD's normally appear?

It is very very random. The one BSOD said ntfs.sys is missing or corrupted. I went ahead and replaced it via windows recovery so hopefully that fixed that. They normally occur after about 10-15 minutes. Of course this is just an estimate sometimes it occurs much earlier or later.

I did take one of my sticks of RAM out earlier and it never crashed again. So I took both sticks back and got new ones. Still does it. And what is Memtest86?

maybe a bad memory slot? try not using the slot that you pulled the first stick from?

Its definately memory related. as lord morpheus said. You may have had one good stick and one bad stick. By returning them both, you may have just had bad luck and gotten another bad stick out of the pair. If you can prove that each stick works in the good slot without issues, but crash your system in the other slot, you will need to return your motherboard and get a new one.

Okay thanks a ton guys. I just took one out of the same slot I did last time and now Im on my computer and its working. I will now try the other slot with the same ram stick.
