Ok here's the deal! Random monitor/video blackouts. Now these blackouts only last a few seconds then the the desktop re-appears. It is so bizarre and I don't see any relation betwen the 3 combinations besides the video card manufacturer. Somebody else must be encountering these issues.

3 different combinations with the same problem

Combo #1
MSI mobo w/ SIS645E Chipset
Latest bios & AGP drivers
Geforce4 MX 440 (tried 2 different sets of drivers)
KDS RAD-7xp 17" LCD (anolog connection)
Win2000Pro

Detailed Problem: Random video blakcouts & lockups in IE and basic everyday business stuff. Hard -reboot required)
Combo #1 Fix: Replace video card with ATI Rage Pro AGP 16Mb (temp). No calls since!

Combo #2
MSI SIS645 Chipset
Latest bios & AGP drivers
Nvidia Quadro2
POS CRT 17" monitor
WinXP

Detailed Problem: Random video blackouts when using IE, Outlook basic everyday stuff. Would also lock up on occasion - hard reboot required.

Combo #2 Fix: Used MSI Live Driver Update thingy to update all drivers including the AGP GART driver to the latest. No calls since! (Interesting how this update helped combo#2 but not #1. They are just about the same.

Most recent problem (tonight) which brings me to this forum for answers

Combo #3
A7N8X Deluxe PCB 2.0 Bios ver 1003
All the latest drivers installed
Geforce4 MX440 8x Nvidia driver version 41.04
WinXP
Iiyama 17" LCD (using DVI to DVI on video card)

Detailed problem: Everything works fine until I drop the resolution down to 800x600. Only at this time will the video blackouts begin to occur.

Combo #3 Fix: ?? anyone Bueller?

What is this latest video blackout sutff????????????????????

I fix computers 24/7 (just about) this is really a wierd one!
HELP!

DirectX 9? Do they all have that in common, or do these systems have Automatic Update enabled and perhaps install it themselves?

Are these three systems at different locations or the same one? If they're at the same location, perhaps a virus or trojan...?
