So much for the government being accountable to the people. Two dictators will only communicate their real intentions in secret. Trump's own intelligence leaders don't know what those two are concocting.

On Wednesday, White House deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement that it was Paul who had requested Trump to provide "a letter of introduction."
Hmmm, haven't those two already been introduced?

The letter highlighted how the U.S. wants to continue to work together with Russia on "countering terrorism, enhancing legislative dialogue and resuming cultural exchanges," Paul said.
Hmmm, how do we know that? Want to take bets that Paul actually read the letter

Slightly related - do you guys ever expect to become better allies with Russia? If so, how would you go about making better ties?

Slightly related - How do yo know that is what Trump is trying to do?

Also slightly related - How to you expect us to have better relations with Russia when they are still trying to hack our elections even today!

This would be a start. Get the fuck out of Crimea and we'll let you back in the G7

Don't you get it. Putin has exhibited exemplary leadership unlike our previous failure of a president. That's all that matters. Actual policies that go completely against basically everything we want and our allies want. Pfft. Cult of personality is the ticket for these clowns apparently.

I wasn't implying anything. Just asking a question. The main reason I ask the question is that having an ally will always serve a better purpose than deeming that someone is forever destined to be an enemy. Not suggesting that is possible or not with the likes of Russia (or North Korea even).

When was the last time you made nice with an enemy who was still actively attacking you?

By acting in a way that is both consistent with your ideals and deserving of respect. Sometimes that involves kicking ass in one of many different ways.

Acting like a pussy when Russia is acting like a pussy-grabber is just idiotic.

Do you think we should seek an alliance with Russia given their current and recent actions? Do you think Putin is the kind of leader we should ally with? If not then what was the point of your question?

What is it with gop Congress critters and their desires to meet with Putin? They keep going over. Paul wanted this intro letter for some reason. Should be noted as well that Paul was one of the two who voted against sanctions against Russia.

I'm guessing a "Russian reset" that doesn't happen due to putin's actions would have been a red light to most Americans. Apparently, to the right, screwing with Obama and stopping Hillary from being elected is a green light to play make up.

So long as it hurts Democrats, righty's are ok with it even if it makes them traitors.

"resuming cultural exchanges" = "Russian baby adoptions back on" = "Magnitsky Act and sanctions repeal"...got it.

edit: To clarify, "help us retain control of House/Senate and we'll be sure to repeal the Magnitsky Act and end associated sanctions"

Don't much mind what penalties are going to be unleashed on Russia of which seems to me to be a misdirect or diversion from those agreements made in secret between Trump and Putin that will never be revealed to the public and who these secret agreements will benefit.
