I've been doing it for about 20 years. I just use it for dipping mostly. Not exactly the healthiest thing to do...

Not on top, but it's fantastic as a dipping sauce with pan pizzas. I wouldn't dip NY style pizza in ranch, though.

i never heard of it until i moved to a rural Missouri town

when we lived closer to Kansas City, i had not heard of it
but all the little kids in my daughters school do it, when they have pizza at school, the cafeteria ladies haul out big vats of ranch dressing

Back in vegas we had the best pizza place, enzos. I used to go there in high school, get 2 slices, 6 garlic knots and a side of ranch and goto town.

God I want some enzos cheese pizza dipped in ranch right now.

I first tried it at Chuck E. Cheese a few years ago. We were living in Baltimore, MD at the time. I'm not sure if the pizza came with it on the side or what, but we put it on top or dip depending on mood.

Ranch goes well with almost any junkfood. Cheesesticks, jalapeno poppers, pizza, etc etc. It however is nasty when used on a salad IMHO.
