ran out of dog food.. substitutions?

what's a good substitute for puppy food? I was thinking a cup of cooked rice with chicken..
should I throw in some broccoli and carrots?

One thing I wonder about canned tuna/salmon and feeding it to dogs/cats is the amount of salt in them. One 6 oz. can contains something like 25% of a human's daily value of sodium. Hard to say how good it is for a smaller animal, let alone for a person to be downing cans of that stuff like it's nothing (body builders).

I feed my 2 Bengals 1-2 cans of tuna everyday. Very healthy and look much better than most cats of their breed. Plus the female produces great kittens. 🙂 It's actually recommended to feed cats some tuna everyday if IRC.

Be careful what you feed your dogs. Too much fat can cause pancreatitis, which can be fatal, and will at the minimum, make the dog VERY sick, and the vet bill will beat the hell out of your wallet.
Boiled chicken breast and some boiled rice is considered to be ok for your dog on an occasional basis.

we used to give our golden puppy white rice with shredded boiled chicken when she wouldn't eat her puppy food. she loved it
