How easily do these come off? I'm talking specifcally about the ones with the Zalman VF700. I'm going to install that on my X1800XL and use a slot blower, so are these things even necessary? I want to be able to install the stock heatsink easily if I need to sell the card later.

You can take em off relatively easily. They're only held in place by thermal tape.

Make sure you clean the ram chips pretty good or they might come off when you don't want them too. 😉

They come off pretty easily. You could pry them off with your fingers pretty easily.

My friend installed the VF700 for me. I was scared to death man! I just opened up a $430 video card and was already taking it apart. It worked out great, no ramsinks fell off but he put a little more thermal grease that I would have liked.
