Rampage BIOS Help - Keep Getting Blue Crashing on Vista Installs

I'm completely lost. Every time I boot to the Vista 64bit DVD it goes through the initial loading then blue screen "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.."

I've tried various manual settings in the tweaking BIO menu. When I adjust the voltage values *sometimes* I can get somewhat farther in the install process but it always gives the same blue screen. I think I need to get just the right BIOS settings.

Where on earth would I look to find the correct settings to use with my hardware? I don't get how voltage requirement lvl's are noted in the CPU manual or what-not.

I have also updated to the latest firmware - this made no difference.

Processor: Intel Quad Q9450 2.66
Memory: Corsair 4GB Dominator 1066 - 8500
Mobo: Asus Rampage Formula
PSU: Seasonic 650W

I've no idea how to set any of the BIO settings but i've tried:

- Changing all voltages to lowest - Same issue
- Changing all voltages up a little bit from lowest - Same issue
- I've tried the values found here: http://www.houseofhelp.com/for...showthread.php?t=68458 to the vary last detail except for "DRAM Command Rate = 2T" (I only have options for 1N and 2N).
- I've tried bringing the ram down to 800mhz and below (when I go below the Vista booting process wont even begin).

I have a nice heat sink to support decent overclocking but I can't even get Vista installed with lowest voltage settings. Are there any settings I need to know in order to get a OS install? What am I missing here?

In addition the drives i have are the 150GB rapter and 500GB Western Digitals - Right out of the box, niether formatted.

Any advice please!!!

Try having just 2GB of memory installed. And have you tried having everything at Auto at first? I remember there was another thread about trouble installing Vista64 on a 150GB Raptor.

Turns out, both sticks of ram were bad. They were passing POST fine but I decided to do a memtest and niether passed they were crashing all over.

Replaced them today and it all seems fine. It was odd that both were bad..
