rambus vs ddr prices...

isnt it ironic that when ddr p4 i845 mobos come out, ddr prices go up so much, that rambus costs the same for the faster rambus i850 platform.

Isn't it just as ironic that 4 months ago Rambus claimed that RDRAM will soon cost the same as DDR. And now it does...

actually, rambus has a far better future or just serial technologies in general. after ddr and the next few generations they will have to go serial anyways. everything is going serial now, i.e. firewire, serial ata, etc. its too hard to design a largely parallel interface at high clock speeds

<< i thought i read somewhere that a couple plants reduced production shooting up prices. 🙁 >>

thats the answer. There is a very high demand, demand was low, and the prices got so low that every n00b shoved 1 gig of ram in his mobo sdr/ddr, so supplies shortened, now demand gets so hight that they bump the price up, im not buying any ram for a long time, its a rip off at the moment
