They actually didn't own any plants, other RAM companies were the people who actually MADE the Rambus sticks (mine are from Kingston)

So would these companies lose the need to pay RAMBUS royalties for making RIMM's? that would be nice, the price would probably drop below that of DDR if it came true.

If the patents are invalid and they were in violation of the JEDEC agreement then they could be in the situation where they have to issue refunds. Meaning they are so hosed even f'edcompany.com will say "WOAH!"

If the crime fraud allegations get a conviction, people could go to jail.

Infineon reports:
?(The Markman) testimony was that the Rambus patent is a multiplex bus, and that we don?t use the multiplex bus in our SDRAM or DDR products,? the source said. ?It means that because we don?t use the multiplex bus they use in their patents?we are not in violation of their patents.?

Micron Technology Inc. and Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. Ltd. use the same bus architecture as Infineon.

Rambus would not comment for this story.


What a fvcked company Rambus is for blatantly missing the obvious. They should do their homework before firing off patent accusations!
