I signed this in a different thread, but keep the sigs coming, though it won't do any good.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again.
No one is signing a petition against the product, it's against the company, there is a big difference in this case.
Rambus made their DRAM, and tried to compete with it, good and well, I'm all for competition. I hope they continue to improve upon Rambus, so DDR and DDR-II will have a competitor.
But then they stopped competing and instead decided to sue everyone they could lay eyes to, and are trying to make it so they own all DRAM technolgoies, and people have to pay them royalties for everything.
What these royalties do for us? Push SDRAM (DDR and regular) prices up to the point where Rambus doesn't look so expensive.
That is why I signed the petition. I have nothing against Rambus the product - in fact I think it has several applications that fit it very well - but I have plenty against Rambus the company.
