I'm looking to upgrade my PC's memory. I wanna make sure I get something good. I'm not sure if I should upgrade to Rambus or PC133. I know about buying a new motherboard for the rimm slots and all that. I'm also wondering if I can overclock with Rambus memory. Also is 128mb of Rambus better than 256mb of PC100?? Anyone know of any good sites that talk about these types of memory?

general consensus on this board is RAMBUS IS SUCK. :)

seriously though, it's overpriced and not worth it for the small performance gain with use with current cpu's and motherboards.

stick with sdram for now, or if you want to wait for ddr motherboards.

Rambus sucks, first of all the RDRAM is not worth the money when you can get faster ram for alot less money, but second of all Rambus is trying to change that by suing every memmory maker in sight and AMD and Transmeta.

My opinion on Rambus, They are EVIL.

No I cannot advise Rambus for your computer.
Performance wise it does not offer any advantage at this time.

Anands review
"Let the analysts play with the crystal balls, for you, the end user, what really matters is what will give you the best bang for your buck. Right now, that's obviously a BX platform running at 133MHz, but in the future you may find yourself lusting after a higher performing DDR solution."

Price is still twice what you would pay for good quality PC133. Spend the extra money on a faster processor or more ram and you would have a faster system.

Ethics. Rambus is a blight on the computer industry. The are trying to sue every company out there to fill their pockets on very questionable patents. Lost Circuits

Buy some good PC133 or wait for DDR.
