RAMBUS finally

Talk about a mess. I built a new PC the 1st of Sept. Everything was a general mess because the company sent me pc800 instead of pc1066. I RMA'd it and got a replacement that did the same thing. So they offered to replace it with OCZ RAMBUS which I was a little worried about. They sent me a shipping label so that I could send the old stuff back. For some reason they assumed that ment the new stuff went out. Well, I waited and waited and no product. So, I called them and they say oops. We'll send it out today you'll get it the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The Monday after I call them because I don't have it. Oops, there was an error in shipping it is going out today overnight fedex. The next day nothing. The next nothing, check my tracking number and it is still sitting in LA at the Fedex facility. I call Fedex, oops we lost your package. OMG. What a mess. So I call the company I ordered the memory from and they immediately send out new memory. In the mean time Fedex finds my stuff and both packages come at the same time. Which was actually a blessing because the shipping people don't know the difference between 1GB and 512MB. They on sent me 2-256mb sticks. Luckily the second package arrived at the same time and I have all 4 sticks.

Now for the good part. The OZC memory is performing flawlessly. Running at 1066 with no errors, ran under prime95 and 3DMark2001. It is so nice to finally have my computer up and running4 months later. I just hope that my 2.8ghz p4 and radeon 9700pro aren't out of date.

I bought the Samsung house memory which turned out to be pc800 that was overclockable to pc1066. Which it didn't work on my PC. They were trying to pull a fast one. I got the second set just in case the 1st was bad. Nope both sets sucked. So they upgraded me to the OCZ without a price change. That much didn't bother me too much. It was the forgetting to send the OCZ out and then loosing it, etc that sucked. Needless to say, I won't order from them again.

BTW: Skip all the crap about people complaining about mwave or newegg not refunding them on time or not sending an item on time. Here's why...The credit card company is the one that needs to credit you. trhe company that issues the credit does that and then Visa, or AMEX etc needs to process it. Maybe Visa is sitting on their hands? When something arrives late it's usually the carrier's fault...newegg packages and ships it off. After that it's UPS or FEDEX that you need to deal with! if Fedex says they picked it up on time then you need to find out what they did. Also with damaged items...companies usually ship stuff in working order...if it's broke that means the UPS guy dropped it on the way. Yell at the right person...don't give mwave or newegg a bad score for something they have no control over.

As for buymstar it looks like they wait around to ship so you have to blame them.

Mstar was the 1st place I ordered from and it came recommended from a friend (some friend) who had no problems with their service. All of the other equipment that I bought came from www.newegg.com without a hitch. Remember that I bought all this stuff the last of August and at that point newegg wasn't selling pc1066. So that is why I went with Mstar. If I would have not tried to be so cheap and just ordered the higher priced stuff from Mstar I probably would have been ok. But since i wanted the Samsung chips and they had them that is what I got. Oh well. I just won't order form them again, unless they send me a $1000 off coupon for being such a patient customer.

I have been ordering all of my equipment from mwave.com for the past 2 years (about $7500 worth) and they have always been on time, quick to answer the phone, and very helpful. Now, I have never had to return anything, but maybe that is saying something in itself. 🙂

Yes it means that you ordering high quality stuff from good Manufactures as mwave has nothing to do with that but rather ther sales end and if it's shipped timely.
