rambus 1066 install in pairs or not?

I'm about to purchase a new system, but do I need to install rambus 1066 dimm's in pairs? I've seen
conflicting opinions on this..

PC1066=installed in pairs


RIMM4200 (P4T-533) equals one module at a time, but half the slots. The P4T-533 should come with a single 512MB RIMM4200 module and should retail for ~300$. In my opinion, that's worthit.
