when you buy ram what is good timing.... How do you know what numbers are good I was looking at some XMS2 with Timing: 4-4-4-12 and OCZ with Timing: 4-4-4-8.

Lower numbers are better - they measure latency.

Notably, latency numbers are less important than the actual speed you run your RAM at.
