My friends computer has 2x512mb sticks of ram, but when he runs dxdiag it only shows around 896mb available. When he uses programs like cpu-z and everest he can see that the two 512 sticks are in the computer and that they both have 512 memory. Any idea whats going on, if the comp actually only recognizes 896, or isthis just an error
 
Is he using integrated graphics instead of a graphics card. It could be the motherboard is reserving 128 megs for the integrated graphics.
