RAM

Is there any difference or advantage to getting (2x) 512 versus just getting a single 1 gig stci of RAM? I'm building a system for gaming and would think that, all things being equal, it would be better to get a single stick of 1 gig RAM and then add another stick of 1 gig down the road. As opposed to using slots just to house 2 512's. Does this make sense? Or is it better, for some reason, to use a matched pair right off the bat rather than a single stick?

If your Mobo is set-up for it, 2 sticks can run in dual channel mode which is quite a bit faster. Check your mobo manual or see if two of the RAM slots are blue...
