I have decided that the best product in my price range right now is the 90nm a64 3000+ with the K8N Neo2 Plantinum. I inted to overclock this combo but I am confused about memory.

Since the 939 uses dual channel ram, does that mean I just need two 512mb sticks of ram or are they a special kind of ram? I would like to get a good overclock, say 2.5ghz which means that I would need ram that would run around 280mhz right?

Is the overclock mentioned above reasonable, or am I going to have to spend a fortune on ram to achieve it?

My notion is that I would like to spend less than $200 for both sticks.

Thanks in advance.

You won't need ram that'll do 280Mhz to o/c. You can use the divider to lower the speed of the ram when raising the HTT, basically the FSB. Do a little research on o/c'ing this setup, it is quite different than previous AMD platforms but is MUCH more flexible, and performanc is outstanding.

You will need 2 sticks of ram to run in dual channel mode. Even though it doesn't NEED to run higher than 200Mhz, naturally performance will be better if it does.
