Ram voltage - does it make a difference?

i will be buying the MSI neo platinum 2 with amd 64 CPU.

my question: does the voltage on the ram make any difference. cause crucial has the 2.5V ram lot cheaper than the 2.8v ram.

im sorry if this is a stupid question - but i want to know if i spend the extra money would there be any speed difference.

btw this PC will be used for a very expensive OCR software.

im planning to buy the 2 (i gb) sticks and the cpu AMD Athlon 64 FX-53

Since you are using it for OCR instead of gaming i suppose you don't overclock, so it shouldn't be any different. Grab the cheaper one. Even if you OC, the difference in performance is really small.

I know that you will not be overclocking at all. So buy the standard Crucial RAM. There is a minor speed difference at a stock 200MHz, but not worth the price difference.

BTW You'll still get the lifetime warranty with the standard Crucial RAM.
