im thinking of getting more ram (ddr400). will there be a huge difference between 1 gig and 2 gig? and is it better to have 2x 1gig stix over 4x 512 stix? i have 2 512 samsung ram modules already, and 2 open dimm slots. i mostly use my computer to play W.o.W. , listen to music and browse internet...usually at the same time 🙂

Depends on the socket/mobo. Most 754/939 mobos can only run 4 sticks at 2T which is not so good.

If you've got an A64, 2x1GB is better.
 
Go with two 1 gig sticks for best performance and better timings. Regardless of CPU, driving two sticks seems to perform better than driving 4 sticks.
