I have a Dell XPT450(P3/450) machine, I just added 128MB PC100 Kingston ValueRAM from buy.com, it costed me a little over $100.my machine runs fine with it.

do you think it would be a good idea to return Kingston and buy SyncMax? (I saw SyncMax for $50 + shipping)

what other brands would work?

Any idea how is buy.com with returns?
 
if you want to save the $50 yes. If not, dont do it. Your board will not support the 256mb dimms , so dont be tempted
