hey,

i know that its really easy to upgrade RAM on a desktop, but is it as easy on a laptop, in particular the Inspirion 9300? And will that do anything to the warranty if i order some ram elsewhere and install it myself? thanks.

if you are concerned about doing anything bad to your laptop when attempting to add ram, take it to any place like circuit city and they will do it for a nominal price.
 
It takes two seconds to unplug the unit, take off the battery, unscrew the little panel, and pop in the RAM.


No need to go anywhere to get it done. Refer to your user manual and you should be perfectly fine.
