Ok, so my current mobo (which I hope to upgrade in a few months) only supports up to PC2100 (Epox 8KHA+).

In the mean time I NEED to buy more ram.

So, the question is: Can I buy PC3200 and use it in my current mobo at 2100/266?

I dont really want to buy already antiquated (2100) ram that will be useless to me in a few months.

Thanks for any help!

i'm almost positive you can't do that.. might as well just go for a new mobo now and memory. Or you could save and wait :D

That is NOT the answer I wanted!!! hehe

But, like with CPU's.....if you can overclock em...why cant you "underclock" em?

I do a very similar thing. My mobo only supports pc2100, yet I have one stick of pc2700 in it. Works great, it will automatically be underclocked.
