i have a question with regards to ram type boards and cpu.
i already have a P4 3.06 CPU, which supports up to 333 MHz RAM. what i want to know, is, if i ge ta MB with the 875 chipset from Intel, can i use the 400 MHZ ram weith it and will it run stable without overclocking it ? will the ram scale back to the CPU ? or should i go with the 333 MHz ram ?
the reason i would like to do this is that i could run it stock for about a year and a half as it will have a lot of power, then o/c the CPU and upgrade video and HD to give the rest some more time at a relatively nice performance. and liek i said, i already have the CPU and peripherals, just trying to match the mobo and ram.
also, where can i buy an intel 875 cipset based board ? specifically looking at MSI and Gigabyte. i did a serch from this site but all came ou empty handed, are those not available on the market yet ? do vendors not carry them ?
