ram to get?

can u please tell me which ram would be best for a gaming system consisting of a P4 3.06 and assus P4G8X DELUXE mobo. i was thinking either crucial or ocz.

I would stay away from OCZ, they might have improved lately but I wouldn't.

Take a look here, it's a sticky at the top of this forum. AnandTech recommends RAM.

i would recommend mushkin or corsair

check for the brands recommended by your mobo manufacturer. There seeems to be evidence that some chipsets prefer certain memory brands (and this may or may not be the reason some NForce people are unhappy with OCZ for example).

If you read the reviews on NewEgg you may see correlation between boards chipsets and ram brands. I'm unclear if it makes a difference if you are not overclocking.

Well, I am happy with my Geil, but I haven't tried OC'ing a lot of other brands. PC3200 C2, 512 meg for $97 + 6 shipping at newegg.
