if i have an intel 3.2E and ECS mobo, what would i be better off with?
512 DDR PC4000 ram or 512 DDR3200 RAM
Would the timing really matter?
the timing on the PC4000 is 3-4-4-8, about 25 $ more than the cheapest PC3200 RAM
or about the same price as Kingston HyperX which has timings of 2-3-2-6
or am i better off saving the 25 $

Take a look at Crucial ballistic there fairly priced and run @ 2-5-2-2. Now days 512 m really doesn't cut it . I would look at 1024m . I know its more money but 512m is just on the edge.On my P4 There is a small diferance @ 2-5-2-2 hardly much at all but lets say you O/C to say 210 @ 2-5-2-2 now the the spread beginns to grow and you can take this ram safely to 216 on air and have a great performance increase if your mobo can O/C at these speeds I can easily overtake 3.6 GHz using higher speed ram . my advice is go to futuremark orb and just compare the P4's there that should help you the most see what real people are getting with there systems.

Stick to 3200. PC4000 isn't going to provide enough of a noticeable difference (if any) to warrant the rather substantial price difference.
