A couple days ago, I went back and "re-overclocked" the rig in my sig. It became unstable the way I had it set up, so I've had it clocked down to 2.3GHz for the last few months to be stable. I finally went through and spent quality time to achieve a 100% stable OC to 2.4GHz, I did so this time, by dropping the RAM speed to DDR333 in the bios. The RAM is rated DDR400 stock timings of 3-3-3-8. I dropped the CAS down to 2.5 with no stability issues so currently, the timings are 2.5-3-3-8.

What is a good next step to try? Keep in mind this is ECC Registered Memory too. Does it matter what numbers I drop next? or is it all a numbers game where you change them until something F's up?

Well, after a little trial and error, I found that my RAM is only stable at 2.5-3-3-7. I don't want to overvolt it and risk nearly $300 of RAM either so I'll just be happy where its at I guess.

I'd replace trial-and-error with Memtest86.

You save a lot of Memtest86 testing time by restricting testing to the more critical Test#5 and Test#8. To start multiple passes of a discrete test:
- Start Memtest86
- Press key sequence: C 1 3 (Test#) Return 0

From 2.5/3/3/8, logical looser settings progression might be:
- 2.5/4/3/8
- 2.5/4/4/8
- 3/3/3/8

Hope this helps!
