Hey everyone who knows this stuff, i got a good question for you.
about to buy a 2.8ghz ht cpu p4.
want to get ram that will overclock it.
bought 3200 cosrair cas level 2 ram - stock heatsink and asus p4p800 deluxe.
will go 10%.. 20% not too stable, but runs 30% not even bootable.
So i'm thinking, what if i get say
kingston hyperx ram pc4000 - I can fries for 140. about 20 more than the corsair 3200 cas 2
the kingston ram though is cas 3.
and the timing is different.
I dont know enough about this to make an informaed decision on wether to go for pc4000 or pc 3200.
aslo i'm pretty much convinced that putting a zalmon fan on the cpu will also help it alot.
using superalien case(awsome with so many fans all controlled by two nobs on front)
one does front intake the other i got all other fans hooked into it, works great, pretty loud with all the fans on full blast, nice and quiet at low modes.
=)

timing refrence for this is chip is
Timing Reference: 3-4-4-8-1 at +2.6V
the 3200 ram is
Timing Reference: 2-3-2-6-1 at +2.6V
so i have no idea whats the differnce except that the cs2
so why is it billed at faster ram.
does the 500mhz mean anything if the asus mother board can only go up to 3200 ram?
whats really happeneing when you stick in the pc4000 500mhz cl3 ram?
as apposed to the pc3200 400mhz cl2 ram
thanks
