RAM tight against heatsink

I just installed some new OCZ DDR with copper heat spreader on it, and it is a tight fit with the XP-120. The DDR stick in the first DIMM actually rests against the heatpipes of the heatsink (heatpipes come into contact with the copper heat spreader). This also slightly tilts the RAM, though not by much.

With this board, if I want to get full speed from my RAM, I apparantly need to have RAM in the first DIMM. Is there any way around this? I'd prefer to put the two RAM sticks in the 2nd and 3rd DIMMs, so none touch the heatsink, but this'll lower the clock frequency of the RAM.

Any ideas? Will the way the RAM is setup now damage it?
