Ram suggestions for P5NSli?

I want a Sli motherboard for my core 2 duo e6600. I don't intend to overclock much, if at all. The Asus P5NSli seems to suit my needs, except that I've heard its had ram compatability issues. So, what ram should I get for this mobo? At this point I'm thinking maybe "Mushkin PC5300 2X1GB DDR2-667 CL 5-5-5-15". Are there better choices?

As for faster ram, I also read that with core 2 duo, there's not much sense going past what the FSB can handle. So if the FSB is at 266mhz, going to ddr2-800 ram won't see much benefit.

Thanks for any help!

Crucial have just put up a recommended list of memory on their website:

Recommended standard Crucial memory for P5NSLI

For the high-performance stuff, recommended Crucial Ballistix memory can be seen here:

Recommended Crucial Ballistix memory for P5NSLI

For those who would like a cheaper option, some of Kingston's value-range of RAM is also compatible:

Recommended Kingston ValueRAM memory for P5NSLI

The Asus QVL (recommended memory module list) can be downloaded here and the manual can be downloaded here.

This board has piqued my interest in Core2Duo as a cost-effective option and is making me reconsider building an AMD system. I'd be very interested to hear how you get on with your build!

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for.

In case you were curious, this is my build for the moment:

CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600
Motherboard: Asus A5NSli
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM DDR2-667 2GB Kit PC-5300 (KVR667D2N5K2/2G)
Graphics: XFX 7950GT (the overclocked model)
Hard Drive: Samsung Spinpoint T Series 400GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB 8.9MS
Optical Drive: Pioneer DVR-111D (its a dual cd/dvd read/burner)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12-500HT 500W
Sound Card: SoundBlaster Extreme Music 24-bit
Case: Antec Solo

Please note thats the 7950gt, NOT the 7950gx2, lol.

So I think I'm finally willing to purchase except some key parts are not available to me yet. Most notably, the 7950GT and compatible RAM. At least, not at the stores/prices I'd like to buy it. Hopefully, a few more of these ram companies get the motherboard, test it out, and find that their ram is compatible, then I'd have a bit more choice. As for the 7950gt, its recently released so I guess I'll just have to wait. I'm in Canada and so I'd prefer to buy it from http://www.directcanada.com or http://www.ncix.com due to their excellent pricing. I really don't want to spend $60 more at tigerdirect to get it now, hehe.

Well, I thought I'd let you know that I've built my first computer. More importantly, it went flawlessly. My build is identical to the above except that given I'm using a headset 99% of the time for speakers I just got the Audigy 4. If you want to know anything particular about the board let me know.
