I plan to buy the ASUS Commando and see what OC i can get from my 6600. 2 or 3 posts I've come across with good clocks mentioned the desire for faster memory and they were using 8000. Would this be the way to go? I have OCZ that will boot at 1.8v to up the voltages in the bios so this memory can be installed but my question is will this memory give the extra headroom desired?

probably. PC2 8000 will run at a 1:1 divider at a 500MHz FSB, which on a E6600 can account up to a 4.5GHz OC (realistically probably with a 7 mult, or about 3.5GHz). if you push it past, you can probably get up to 555.5 MHz (PC2 8888 DDR2 1111)
