RAM Speed VS Total RAM

I have a nForce 250GB motherboard

I currently have 2 512MB sticks of 3200 and if I add my last stick for 1.5GB of RAM it caps my speed to 333Mhz but you can lock it in at 400Mhz via the BIOS

When I ran some benchmarks with sisandra it said my bandwith efficieny was dropped by at least 15% i think it was when I had the extra ram in.

I plan to probably over clock my box again to at least 220FSB

I am running a 3400+.

Thanks

Do you need 1.5GB? Do you do heavy multitasking/video editing/certain games? Have you ever noticed you total memory use go over 950 MB? If not, I see no reason to add another stick.

Wow firefox eats up 111MB with 5 sites open interesting.

Back on topic... once i get a camcorder i will get back into video editing

Right now i do some gaming here and there and work with Cubase SX and Acid Pro for a lot of my music production.

According to winXP my Ram Commit Charge is 613M/2460M
