Ram sink thermal tape.....

I am using a Zalman VF-900 and need to do a re-install because of rma issues. FYI, I e-mailed Zalman to see about spare thermal tape. Their reply "please purchase new Zalman ramsinks". What a complete waste of material. You think maybe they would include spare tape for a couple of re-installs.

Anyway, I found some replacement tape on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280004057227

Unintentionally advertising for this guy but if anyone needs some, the price is right.....

Um, unless you scraped the old thermal tape off, you'll need completely new ramsinks...

Thats not hard to do, cotton swap and rubbing alcohol.

You might want to look into Artic Silver's thermal epoxy. That stuff will get better hold than any thermal tape.

Um.....😕

Would like to go epoxy, but warranties come into play, the stuff permanently bonds correct?

Pretty much. Trying to tear the hs off takes the ram chip with it. 😛

It'll hold a lot better than any thermal tape though, I seem to have horrible luck with thermal tape. Dang heatsinks always fall off on me.
