Theres the straight line and L shape. I know L shaped means u can softmod, and straight u cant yatty yatty.... what does it mean if i have L shaped 9700pro ram...... nothing? just... L-shaped? Kinda a weird question... spastic late night wondering... oh so random ;)

It's for the 256MB memory interface or 8 pipelines I believe. That's why it's configured that way.

When the memory is in the L shape its interface is 256-bit. The I config is 128-bit. Both of these are softmoddable, because softmodding unlocks the 4 pipelines in the core but the memory cannot be changed to 256-bit. Only the ones with 256-bit memory can flash the BIOS to unlock the pipelines. The 9700 already has all 8 pipelines in tact so you don't have to mod anything.
