So I am planning to build a 2500+ setup with ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe. What type of ram should I use? Is there a good resource for getting educated on ram? I wanna make decisions based on knowlege and not necessairly popularity.

Just read around the forums here and im sure youll find what you need to know.

On a note Id reccomend some good DDR400. Muskin, Corsair XMS, HyperX, etc.

The added "cushion" is because if the Ram is certified to run at 433mhz, it will be extremely stable at 400mhz.
I, myself, have Mushkin PC3500 level 2 ram because of the really tight timings of 2:2:2:6. Be prepared to raise the
RAM voltage to 2.7V on fast ram. I cannot say anything for Corsair or Kingston ram - I have only had Mushkin ram in my systems.
If price is a deciding factor, Muskin and Corsair are more expensive than most other brands of ram.

I am following an assumption that you will doing some oc'ing w/ that 2500+ right? If I'm correct I would go with the PC3500 because you will be giving yourself some extra room to work with on the FSB.

DDR400 is PC3200

whoa!, don't get those, they're all CL3. Get some quality pc3500 CL2. IMO, Muskin pc3500 Level 2 is nearly the best you can buy if you want to spend the money otherwise go with hyperx - it's cheap (compared) but good stuff.
