Really? Faster ram isn't the problem, I'm just gonna go with the recommended 1600mhz that the motherboard says to use. But I've heard that if you go with something of lesser quality, it won't be as good. Like people swear by G.Skill and stuff like that. I've found some cheap Kingstons and some others, I just don't want them to completely suck. I'll pretty much just be gaming on it. I have my laptop for anything else I want to do, it's just getting dated for gaming.go to pcpartpicker (chose your country) and get the cheapest ddr3 2x4Gb you can find. there will be no advantage to buying faster ram.
If I were shopping for high quality (DDR3) memory, I would use the following parameters as a guide...
* DDR3 rated at 1.5v or lower
* DDR3 rated at the lowest CAS I could afford
* DDR3 rated at the highest clock speed I could afford
* Limit the scope of my purchase to G.Skill, Mushkin, Corsair XMS or Crucial (non-Ballistix)
While not wavering on the voltage point, I would balance the other issues with my budget.
Remember, my goal is not pure "benchmarking" performance, but simply finding the highest quality memory I can afford. ^_^
The only reason I pay a premium for low latency, high speed, low voltage memory is...
Quality and quality alone.
1.5v is the JEDEC DDR3 voltage standard.
Stay with 1.5v or less if you can afford it..
What he saidThat's not a bad deal. I came across this Team Elite Plus 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model TPD38G1600C11DC01
