Ram recommendation for DFI Lanparty UT 250gb to run at 250fsb

Any ram recommendation that can be used to run at 250fsb 1:1 ratio with the DFI Lanparty UT 250gb? According to anand the ballistix will do the job but 2 sticks will run close to $300. Is there any other recomendation that's closer to $200 for a 1gb of ram. If that is not possible, I can drop the 1:1 ratio requirement, but what kind of performance loss if any can I expect?

Might want to look at THESE.

Official word from Corsair (HERE) is that you can get similar timings with less voltage in single channel mode (which is what you would be using on that board). The thing I like about these is you won't void the warrenty if you run them at 250, since it's not OCing them.

As always, YMMV, especially depending on what revision A64 you have.

the best A64 ram IMHO is the pc3700EB by ocz but they run way over 300+

I am using 2 x 256 sticks of ocz pc4000 rev 2 gold and can run 275 1:1 @ 2.8 volts with 3-3-3-8 timings (from the stock 2.5-3-3-8.... as cas 2.5 to 3 doesn't effect performance much)....

i am limited by my SATA drive at the moment....

I was thinking getting OCZ 3200 plat rev 2 was better than the EB memory since the 3200 has better timmings. (2-2-2-5).

yes smithy it does have tighter timings at 200 HTT but at 250+, the 3700's will run 3-3-2-8 or even 3-2-2-8 while the rev 2 plat showed to run at 3-4-4? i think in the anandtech test

Do you guys kno if that ram can hit 230Mhz? It has a nice price (194) for 1GB of it, and thats around my budget.

yes i am using the stock cooler at the moment....

as for running 230 on the pc3500's...

i think it might be possible.. only 13 mhz above the stock speed...

you may have to loosen the timings though

Unfortunately 2 sticks of ram will always come at a price

Only had my DFI Lanparty UT NF3-250Gb for 3 days but easily does 10x 250HTT = 2500mhz at 1.55v vcore with ram @ 250mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.1v vdimm

ram is 2x 256MB KHX3200K2/512 BH-5 :)

Crucial Ballistix 4000 is the best ram for A64. Can run insanly tight timmings at 250Mhz. 2.5-3-2 or even 2-3-2 with good sticks.

Micron is crucial. Ballistix has even better micron G than OCZ's micron C.

Also, I know crucial will be around forever to redeem my lifetime warranty if someting should go wrong.

For now, we would recommend Crucial Ballistix or OCZ 3500EB/3700EB as first choice on Athlon 64 motherboards, says anandtech. Guess I read this to fast and almost bought the wrong stuff.

Try a higher (T)RAS than 6 and you may find the performance picks up a few percentage points. Aside from that I'm turning green :D

2-2-2-10 while it may give higher sandra bandwidth, 2-2-2-6 will give better overall performance in 3/4 of the benchmarks and games you run.. tested it myself recently :)

anyway i'm at 10x 260HTT with 1:1 ram @260mhz 2-2-2-6 at 3.28v on this board now :)

Do anyone know any online retailer currently carrying OCZ EB3700? Have looked at all the majors and nobody seems to have any. One place has some EB3500 and most places carry the EB3200, but not sure how high the 3200 will go.
