RAM RAID?

Would it be possible to setup ram on a motherboard or video card in a sort of raid array? This just came to me when i was reading about raid arrays the other day. it seems like something someone else would have already thought of but if not, i call the rights to it!


I picture it as having say 2 128mb chips on a video card acting as one. theoretically, should this increase if not double the speed of the ram?

That would either be QBM or Dual channel. The Nforce implements dual channel and you get twice the amount of memory bandwidth. The difference between the two is that dual channel rquires twice the amount of physical traces which makes things very expensive and very prone to instability.
