Ram Questions (OC and Temps)

i am currently using a 5:4 ratio at 250 fsb for my 2.4 (oc to 3.0) and ddr400 ram.

using ddr400 corsairs valueselect (2x256) in dual channel.
my ram is currently running at 7-3-3-2.5

i want to overclock it to 5-3-3-2 (or somewhere close around that)

1) what should i do first? change the cas to 2? or lower the tRAS slowly to 5?

2) How would i know that my vdimm would need a bump in the voltage?

3) What errors can i expect when running the computer normally?

4) After everything seems stable, how long should memtest be run until the rams are consider "stable"

PS: Would heat be increased greatly? and how good are heat spreaders?

Many Thanks.

1) I'd change it to CAS 2 first, work on a setting at a time.
2) I'd just kick your vdimm up to 2.8V, it's relatively safe
3) Your computer might not POST
4) 1 standard test should pick out most problems if you're impatient, but a few runs should be good enough
